Sewell Point Statement Regarding Tucson Water Contamination
Recent reports confirm that Tucson's water supply has been contaminated with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), chemicals linked to the former Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. PFAS contamination poses significant health risks, including potential links to cancer, liver damage, and immune system dysfunction. The ongoing lawsuit, citing the Air Force's responsibility for the contamination, highlights the severity of this issue.
Given the established presence of PFAS in Tucson's water and the potential health hazards, Sewell Point recognizes the urgent need for clean, safe water for affected families and individuals. Independent testing has shown levels of PFAS exceeding some health advisory limits.
We call upon fellow businesses, organizations, and individuals with resources and funding to join us in a collective effort to provide quality, safe, and clean water to our community and constituents in Tucson. This is not just a legal matter; it's a humanitarian one. We must come together to ensure the health and well-being of our neighbors. Sewell Point commits to supporting this vital cause and encourages others to do the same.
