Juan Sewell is the Founder of Sewell Point, a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to justice reform, second chances, and restoring dignity to individuals and families impacted by systemic barriers. Guided by lived experience, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to equity, Juan has made it his life’s work to ensure that a person’s past does not define their future.
With a deep understanding of how incarceration, economic hardship, and lack of access fracture families and communities, Juan founded Sewell Point to create real, tangible pathways forward. The organization focuses on record expungement and sealing, reunification support, workforce readiness, and community stabilization—meeting people where they are and walking with them toward lasting change.
Juan is known for his people-first leadership, strategic vision, and ability to build trust across communities, institutions, and systems that have historically failed those most in need. His approach is rooted in accountability, compassion, and action—turning policy into practice and hope into opportunity.
Through Sewell Point’s flagship initiative, “Say Yes to Second Chances,” Juan champions the belief that rehabilitation, redemption, and reintegration are not privileges, but human rights. His leadership continues to inspire collaborative efforts between nonprofits, legal partners, educators, and civic leaders to dismantle cycles of harm and replace them with sustainable solutions.
At his core, Juan Sewell is a builder—of systems, of bridges, and of futures—proving every day that when people are given a real chance, they rise.
